Each year one student is selected as the Yambiro Venture Manager, which is an unpaid internship through the McNeely Center for Entrepreneurship. I was selected for this internship and these are the recorded adventures of Julia and I. First off, we leave MSP in the wee hours of the morning to head to the Galapagos Islands! We will be there for a week before meeting up with the rest of our group in Quito. Julia will be taking the Gender and Culture Course that is offered on the trip and I will be working on my internship as well as an ILP. While there, I will be meeting with the women of the Cooperative once a week. On the other days, I will be helping out with the classes that the Gender and Culture Course students will be holding classes for the children of the community. I will be helping out with the English class while Julia will be conducting the health class with two nursing majors. I will take notes while we wait in our layovers and downtime and will publish our posts as internet is available. Wish us luck on our first week of adventure!
